“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” Saint Augustine

When the pandemic started I hated the idea of sitting at home in front of a computer. I decided to hit the road. I made one trip to the beaches of Florida, but I spent a lot of time in small towns and remote areas of Texas. There is only one thing that would have made it better. Lucy loved traveling as much or more than I did. She was aware, from the back of the Dog Mahal, of the roads we were going down. She knew if we were going down a new road or one that we had been down before.

If she knew where we were going she curled up in the back and slept. If she did not know the roads we were on, she perked up and took in every sight. I am convinced she made detailed mental notes.

While I enjoy traveling, and always will, it will never be the same without Lucy. No dog, no person, nothing will replace her enthusiasm and joy. #lucyforever
